Reflexology is believed to have originated from Egypt and China circa 5,000 years ago. The feet and hands were treated to promote good health.
Reflexology can be done on the Feet, Hands and Face. It is a very effective relaxing holistic treatment that may help to ease a wide variety of symptoms such as stress, anxiety, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, digestive issues, aches and pains and promotes improved sleep quality, digestion and often lifts mood and energy.
Foot Reflexology can be done whilst lying down, seated in a reclining chair or standing with Vertical Reflex Therapy. Only socks and shoes need to be removed.
After cleansing, the feet, ankles and lower leg receive treatment using small pressures that are done on specific Reflex points that correspond to all of the Reflexology Zones and corresponding physiological organs and systems of the body. VRT or Vertical Reflexology Therapy works on your weight-bearing feet, whilst standing for a few minutes, sometimes alone or as a prelude to the main treatment to provide deeper access to the reflexes to accelerate the healing processes. The client can then lie on a couch to relax for the traditional reflexology session. VRT is also used when a shorter express Reflexology session is required.
